The Second Amendment Right To Keep and Bear Arms

calendar June 12, 2018 | 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm location Tellus360, 24 East King Street, Lancaster price-tag Free; no pre-registration required.

Public discourse and debate over gun rights in the United States is reaching fever pitch. On one side of the debate are arguments that an individual has an absolute right to own firearms and that gun control laws infringe the right to self-defense and could result in the government taking away all guns. On the other side are assertions that gun rights are not unlimited and that gun control laws would reduce gun deaths and violence. In the midst of this heated social and political debate we ask, “What does the Second Amendment actually mean?” Presenters Dwight Yoder, Justin Bollinger, Jason Asbell, and Sheila O’Rourke will present a basic overview of the Second Amendment from a historical and legal perspective. Please join us at Tellus360 for a thoughtful and interactive discussion.
