calendar January 29, 2018 | 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm location Tellus360, 24 East King Street, Lancaster price-tag Free; no pre-registration required.

Join us for an overview of the First Amendment’s guarantee of the free exercise of religion, as well as its protection of churches and religious organizations from governmental interference. This will include a review of federal and state laws that protect religious freedoms. Dwight Yoder, Justin Bollinger and Sheila O’Rourke from the law firm of Gibbel Kraybill & Hess LLP will discuss this timely topic in light of recent decisions from the United States Supreme Court regarding the Constitution’s protection of religious freedom. This seminar will explore how the Court has resolved conflicts between an individual’s religious beliefs and the mandates of public laws. It also will explore how the Court applies the First Amendment to religious and secular institutions.
