It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our friend, colleague, and founding partner, John R. Gibbel.
A native of Lititz, Pennsylvania, John dedicated more than 50 years of his life to the practice of law and to serving the people of Lancaster County and surrounding communities. As one of the founding partners of our firm, he helped build a legacy of trusted legal counsel, integrity, and service that continues to guide us today.
Throughout his distinguished career, John engaged in the general practice of law, with primary concentrations in estate planning, estate administration, real estate, and elder law. He was a trusted advisor to generations of clients who valued not only his legal knowledge and experience, but also his compassion, wisdom, and genuine concern for their well-being. John always sought what was best for those he served, approaching every matter with care, patience, and respect.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, John will be remembered as an exceptionally kind and caring man. He lived a life devoted to helping others, volunteering regularly through his church and numerous nonprofit organizations. His commitment to service reflected his deep faith and unwavering belief in supporting those in need.
Most importantly, John loved his family dearly. The love he shared with his family was evident in all aspects of his life and remains an enduring part of his legacy.
John’s impact on our firm, our clients, and our community is immeasurable. We are grateful for his leadership, friendship, and example. While he will be deeply missed, his influence will continue to be felt for generations to come.
