GKH Attorneys Encourage McCaskey Students To Consider a Legal Career

GKH hosted a display at McCaskey High School’s career fair on April 19. Attorneys Sheila O’Rourke and Angelo Fiorentino engaged 10th, 11th, and 12th graders, challenging them to consider a career in the legal field.

Attorneys O’Rourke and Fiorentino described an attorney’s typical workday, quizzed students on their knowledge of the U.S. Constitution, and answered their questions. Students who were uncertain of their career plans, or who were intimidated by the prospect of law school, were encouraged to consider exploring the legal field by pursuing jobs as paralegals or legal assistants.

GKH is committed to encouraging School District of Lancaster students who are interested in legal careers. The GKH partners established an internship and scholarship for a McCaskey High School graduate with plans to attend a four-year college and pursue a career in the legal field.

“This was a great opportunity to connect with Lancaster’s young people,” said Sheila. “I was impressed at how engaged many of them were, and how knowledgeable some were about the U.S. Constitution and our country’s legal system.”
