Intellectual Property Seminar

Corporate Practice Group attorneys Peter Kraybill, Jonna Stratton and Angelo Fiorentino presented “Protecting Trademarks and Copyrights” on November 28. Using a hypothetical case study, the three presenters discussed interstate commerce, websites, social media, and their intersection with intellectual property law. They focused on the steps proactive businesses and nonprofits should take to protect their intellectual property and defend against allegations of trademark or copyright infringement. The presenters also discussed the types of intellectual property, how to acquire a trademark or copyright, and why it is necessary to protect, register and enforce trademarks and copyrights. The seminar was part of GKH’s complimentary seminar series.
